Welcome to the Halifax Club
The Halifax Club was founded in 1862 as a private social club for Halifax’s business and political leaders. The original handsome building on Hollis Street has survived economic upheavals, urban renewal and the Halifax explosion. Now, respectfully refurbished and renewed, the Club is a second home to today’s business and community leaders and tomorrow’s future-makers.
The Halifax Club offers its members and their guests fine and casual dining options, as well as a variety of social events and networking activities. The club is a place for women and men to unwind and relax in elegant comfort with their fellow members.
While we operate as a private members’ club, we do make the venue available for select events and meetings. The building offers a range of rooms suitable for a variety of uses.
Our culinary team proudly prepares some of the finest dishes in the city, using the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Whether for a working lunch, an evening cocktail, or a formal dinner, you’ll enjoy their refined creations and impeccable service.
Members are encouraged to make reservations by calling (902) 407-1112.
For event catering see Events.
The Halifax Club is available for events—hosted by members and non-members alike (with booking priority for our membership). From small breakfast meetings to full-day seminars to weddings and other celebrations, we’re pleased to offer some of the most beautiful and unique spaces in the city. Our professional and highly versatile kitchen staff are available to provide a wide range of elegant fare, and can accommodate most special requests.
Whether you need a small private space or the entire club, we invite you to contact us to discuss your event planning needs or to request sample catering menus.
We welcome expressions of interest from prospective members. A membership at the Halifax Club will open doors to new connections, new conversations, and new ideas. Our staff are here for you, and will support you in making the most of your membership. Please note that members are expected to relate to one another as peers: respectfully and professionally. We expect members to refrain from using the Club as a venue for soliciting new business.
Membership is by application; please contact us for more information.
